Prayer deepens our relationship with God and strengthens us in our daily lives. At St. Jude, we offer a variety of opportunities for personal and communal prayer, including Eucharistic Adoration, the Rosary, and other devotions. Whether you are seeking quiet time with the Lord or praying together with our parish community, you are welcome to grow closer to Christ through prayer.
Eucharistic Adoration
Come adore the Lord in silent Eucharistic Adoration. The Most Blessed Sacrament is exposed upon the altar of St. Jude Parish the fourth Tuesday of each month from 9:00am to 7:00pm. All are welcome to spend some quiet time with the Lord.
The Rosary
Join us for the Rosary at 8:05am every Sunday morning before the 8:30am Mass.
The Rosary is a Scripture-based prayer. It begins with the Apostles’ Creed, which summarizes the great mysteries of the Catholic faith. The Our Father, which introduces each mystery, is from the Gospels. The first part of the Hail Mary is the angel’s words announcing Christ’s birth and Elizabeth’s greeting to Mary. St. Pius V officially added the second part of the Hail Mary. The Mysteries of the Rosary center on the events of Christ’s life. There are four sets of Mysteries: Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious and – added by Saint John Paul II in 2002 – the Luminous. The repetition in the Rosary is meant to lead one into restful and contemplative prayer related to each Mystery. The gentle repetition of the words helps us to enter into the silence of our hearts, where Christ’s spirit dwells. The Rosary can be said privately or with a group.
St. Jude Shrine
The shrine is open for prayer before and after all Masses and during regular business hours throughout the week. If visiting outside of Mass times, please enter through the parish offices and check in with the office staff.
Holy Water
Holy water is available to all St. Jude parishioners. There is a font (pictured to the right) next to the vesting room in the narthex. Bring your own suitable container and take some Holy water home with you after Mass. Use it to bless your home, your family members and yourself. Get your own small font and place it by the door, so you can bless yourself as you leave or return home.
Healing Mass
Join us for a Mass of Faith, Hope and Healing (Healing Mass) on the first Wednesday of every month at 7:00pm.
