Originally reserved for young men training to become priests, the ministry of acolyte (another word for server) is now open to boys and girls grade 5 and above, who have demonstrated good character and a responsible attitude.
Training is held in the fall or by special arrangement and prepares the server to assist the priest as needed throughout the Mass. Servers assist at Mass approximately once a month, arrive early to Mass, and be well-groomed and alert.
