Dear Parents,
Thank you so much for allowing your child to attend this weekend’s retreat! It’s going to be an amazing experience! It will be held at Little Pine Island – Lower Lodge (7889 Pine Island Dr Comstock Park 49321) with registration beginning at 8PM on Friday. (Registration begins at 7:45PM) and will conclude at Noon on Sunday.
When entering the camp take the drive down past the houses on each side. There will be a parking lot on the right at the end. Go into that parking lot and then drive down the drive that has a sign that says do not enter. If you are concerned about ice, you can take the drive on the left around and down. We are down the hill on the water. It is a smaller building. You can drop your kids and their stuff off there.
The students will be sleeping at the camp. There will be separate areas designated for the boys and the girls.
Important things to bring: sleeping bag, pillow, toiletries, and reusable water bottle. Recommended things to bring: extra blankets for hanging out and during talks, Bibles, rosaries, journals, favorite snacks.
The cost of the retreat is $60. Please bring cash, or make the check out to St Jude Parish. Please bring payment the morning of the retreat.
If you need to reach me, my number is (616)560-8107. For this retreat, we certainly encourage the kids to “unplug” and leave behind cell phones, but we are not prohibiting them. However, they are not to be used during talks, Adoration, Mass, etc.
A local priest will be celebrating Mass for us on Saturday night; this will fulfill their Sunday obligation. The goal is to provide them with ample opportunities of spirituality and relaxing. They do not have to take part in any activities during the retreat. If they want to go nap for 10 hours – that is up to them! We are really excited to enjoy this weekend with them!
