Lectors and readers are entrusted with the tasks of making the Word of God come alive by proclaiming it in such a way that the congregation hears Him speaking to them. With practice, we are able to fulfill our task and make the Liturgy more meaningful for all.

Requirements are a good speaking voice and a willingness to stand up in front of the congregation to proclaim the Good News. Training includes articulation, phrasing, voice projection, and microphone use. Each lector receives a manual of the readings for the year, with meditations and appropriate suggestions for effective proclaiming. Lectors are assigned on a rotating basis at the Mass which is preferred. Adults and teenagers are welcome to participate.
